"Bhakti Maargam - The Path to Devotion" - Bharatanatyam by Vaishalee Ballolla

Experience the love of a devotee seeking divine blessings, the unconditional love of a mother for her child, and the guiding love a teacher has for a disciple expressed through Bharatanatyam's language of movement, mime and expression.

Vaishalee Ballolla, a longtime student of Kala Vandanam presents a solo Bharatanatyam concert to benefit the Institute Himalayan Tradition (www.ihtyoga.org). She is also a student of raja yoga and teaches hatha yoga at IHT.

Chitram is a grand multimedia musical theater production, with concept and artistic direction by visionary composer Kanniks Kannikeswaran (www.kanniks.com). Proceeds from the Twin Cities presentation of Chitram benefit Second Harvest Heartland (www.2harvest.org)

Suchitra Sairam will present a solo Bharatanatyam piece, and has choreographed a group Bharatanatyam presentation for Chitram.

"Colors of Krishna" - Bharatanatyam by Suchitra Sairam

Dreamland Arts (www.dreamlandarts.com) is celebrating it's 5th anniversary in St. Paul with "Meet Me Tonight in Dreamland," a 5 week performing arts festival.

Suchitra Sairam will present "Colors of Krishna" as a part of festival - Experience Krishna through the lens of his mother, his admirers, his disciples and his devotees; depicted through the expressive language of Bharatanatyam.

"Samarpanam" - Fundraiser to benefit the Hindu Society of Minnesota

Suchitra Sairam join several local artists to present "Samarpanam", and evening of Indian classical dances. The Hindu Society of Minnesota's annual event to celebrate the classical dance traditions of India will feature solo and group performances. Suchitra will debut two new choreographies specifically created for this event.

All proceeds benefit the Hindu Society of Minnesota.

International Foundation of Carnatic Music (ICFM) - Oothakaadu Venkatakavi Aradhana

Suchitra Sairam has the privilege of presenting a piece in the first Oothakaadu Venkatakavi Aradhana in Minnesota. The one day festival celebrating the compositions of Sri Oothakaadu Venkatakavi is organized by the Minnesota chapter of famed chitraveena artist Ravikiran's organization, International Foundation of Carnatic Music.

Salangai Pooja - Apoorva Kanneganti

Suchitra Sairam is pleased to present her disciple Apoorva Kanneganti in her first public solo performance. Traditionally, the Salangai Pooja (prayer for the bells) is conducted after the dancer achieves a base level of competency, and is the first occasion on which a dancer wears her bells in public performance. The brief prayer will be followed by a one hour performance by Apoorva.
