Kala Vandanam is pleased to present Anjali Gopal, a 15 year old sophomore at Woodbury Senior High School, in her Bharatanatyam debut performance. Anjali is the first Kala Vandanam student to be presented in an Arangetram.

Salangai Pooja - Anjali Gopal

Suchitra Sairam is pleased to present her disciple Anjali Gopal in her first public performance. Traditionally, the Salangai Pooja (prayer for the bells) is conducted after the dancer achieves a base level of competency, and is the first occasion on which a dancer wears her bells in public performance. The brief prayer will be followed by a one hour performance by Anjali.

Varunapuri Kuravanji - The Divine Gypsy

Suchitra Sairam performs one of the lead roles as the Kurathi in the dance drama Varunapuri Kuravanji. The production is presented as a part of the 25th anniversary celebrations of the Nritya School of Bharatanatyam, founded by one of Suchitra's gurus, Smt. Padmini Chari.
